Lyme's & Chinese Medicine

As my son graduated and wanted to experience what it is to become a SEAL in the military, I sent him off to Virginia to camp with Rob Robson Team Seal Six, the man who extracted Osama Bin Laden.

But even with a letter of recommendation he was not going to be able to join. He got bit by ticks which did not leave your typical target redness on the body. These were just purple around the ankles.

When I wanted the labs to investigate this, I had to be very persistent. Well, I was also ordering over 15 panels! I just kept telling the doctor I was an OMD. He went for it.

The test results did show some of the 2 of the less obvious markers lit up but the MD thought I should see a specialist. My language and knowledge was beyond what he could handle. I had started to tell him what we should do and was letting him know this was not celiac but parasites!

Well they were!! And it was not celiac!! I was starting to get a picture of what Lymes is all about and why MD's in the US have such a hard time recognizing it.

1. Reading the panels are almost impossible. You have to go through 10/15 lines of letters and no's that go across a page of 10 bars down. Lyme is a smart bug that knows how to hide.

2. Testing for the 20 different bugs can be really expensive.

3. And then what to do! There are only drugs that they can manage which will kill both your gut biome, deplete the immune system and categorically make you just as sick. You cannot be on antibiotics, antifungals, antiparasitics for 6 months. Your skin and brain would melt. You know your gut is your second brain.

So I starting looking at herbs from around the world. I got my anti-malarial anti-parasitics from Africa in liquid. My anti-fungals from the jungle of Peru. Makes sense right? Anti-microbial, viral and bacterial were easier to find here in the US. I did add Japanese mushrooms to the cocktails.

So then I started grinding the herbs in the coffee grinder and finding how to mix it with teas from herbs that my son would drink. Using potent chinese herbs that kill bacteria/viral are very pungent and bitter. Like Huang Lian and Huang Qin.

What I want to share is the importance of getting tested at least 3 times for Lymes and do both the Western Blot and the Elisa.

You can start by getting immunoglobulin panels to see what tissues are being attacked and start with intense dosing of probiotics. We did up to 250 for a week on and then down to 100 billion. Smart supplementation can give the immune system a much needed boost in it's fight, kill bad bacteria and parasites, and manage symptoms. I can help with this if you are in the area. If not, seek a qualified practitioner who can.

You will also need to eat nutrient dense foods. Adequate protein, healthy fats, anti-inflammatory fruits and vegetables fuels the body. It is with utmost importance to eliminate any and all food sensitivities; Gluten, dairy, soy, and other allergenic foods can be the ammunition to inflammation and exacerbate Lyme's symptoms. Incorporating probiotic-rich fermented vegetables will restore bacterial imbalances in the gut and increase the body's defenses along with supplementation.

Sleep and stress-management are just as important. Listen to your body. Give it what it needs. Stress can wreak havoc on the immune system so it is important to take time for yourself and participate in healing, calming activities: acupuncture, massages, exercise, meditation, reading, listening to music, and yoga are all great for calming the nervous system and alleviating stress while your body is healing.
